The Academic Senate plans professional development events throughout each academic year with a variety of themes and goals. Some events occur regularly each year, such as the plenary sessions, Curriculum Institute, and Faculty Leadership Institute. Other events rotate or occur regionally, depending on topic and interest. Faculty from California community colleges are welcome to attend and participate in any ASCCC sponsored event, and coordination with the local senate president is encouraged to be sure that colleges are fairly represented.

Curriculum Regional Meetings: Fall 2011
Join us for the Fall 2011 Regional Curriculum Meetings. The primary focus of these events will be a discussion of repeatable classes and other options that might achieve the same ends as repeatability. We will also offer updates and answer questions on content review, transfer degrees, and other curricular topics. Curriculum chairs, administrators, and other involved with curriculum are invited to attend.
Locations
September 16th: The Northern California regional meeting will be held at Foothill College from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (12345 El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills, CA 94022.) Morning coffee and a box lunch will be provided. Register here.
September 23rd: The SoCal Regional Curriculum Meeting will take place at Mt. San Antonio College (1100 N. Grand Ave, Walnut, CA, 91789) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The meeting will be in Building 28A, room 103 (see campus map). Parking will be complimentary. Please check in at the Information kiosk located on San Jose Hills Road and proceed to Paylot B. A light continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Register here.
Who Should Attend?
Attendance is limited to three registrants per college. We encourage faculty, curriculum chairs, and administrators to register.
Travel
Travel will not be covered by the Academic Senate to attend this meeting.
Curriculum Institute
Save the date. The annual Curriculum Institute will take place July 12-14, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport. More details will be posted soon.
