Accreditation

California Community Colleges are accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). The standards for accreditation include some references to curriculum and student learning outcomes (SLOs), and requirements for substantial changes to programs. The Vice President for Instruction at a college or the accreditation liaison should be aware of college responsibilities to the ACCJC for substantive programmatic changes. Curriculum committee chairs are encouraged to stay connected to accreditation local processes as well as monitor changes to any accreditation standards that affect curriculum development.
