California Community Colleges Curriculum

Accreditation

California Community Colleges are accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). The standards for accreditation include curriculum and student learning outcomes (SLOs), and requirements for substantial changes to programs. The college’s Chief Instructional Officer or the Accreditation Liaison Officer should be aware of college responsibilities to the ACCJC for substantive programmatic changes. Curriculum committee chairs are encouraged to stay connected to local accreditation processes as well as to monitor changes to any accreditation standards that affect curriculum development.
