At most California community colleges, the faculty chair or co-chair of the curriculum committee receives reassigned time in order to perform the duties associated with leading the curriculum committee. The amount of reassigned time awarded to faculty curriculum chairs or co-chairs varies across the state. Some colleges provide stipends or other means of compensation to curriculum chairs or other individuals involved with curricular processes.
